We have experienced staff appropriate for the task and we specialise and combine our expertise in general building design, architecture, civil, structural and geotechnical engineering providing an integrated service maximising successful integrated outcomes. These capabilities were demonstrated recently when we performed assessments and quoted for rectification of work in Bundaberg.

We discovered a lot of damage and misery caused by Ex Tropical Cyclone Oswald. Fortunately our previous experience in disaster management had us in good stead to handle this sensitive situation. We have helped many businesses through some truly horrible times:

Project Management

Project Management has now become the preferred process for some insurers when handling commercial claims as opposed to the previous method of appointing a loss assessor or builder.

A project manager is now being considered as someone who oversees the entire project with no hands on involvement.

ICPS have a demonstrated expertise in this field. Insurance companies using this approach are experiencing reduced costs and higher client satisfaction. As an example, ICPS have been recently appointed following the devastating fire which ripped through a large retail complex in North Mackay. The fire wall which separates tenant Sam’s Warehouse from the other three tenancies saved Sam’s Warehouse from destruction. The other tenants were not as fortunate. This type of appointment achieves the insurers demands and utilises the experience of my staff in areas of engineering, project management consultancy, building design and construction management.

Many homes in North Bundaberg were severely damaged or completely destroyed by Ex Tropical Cyclone Oswald.

And ICPS is again at the forefront with investigation and rectification of storm damaged homes.

ICPS has had to combine “smart” geotechnical and structural engineering to repair or rebuild on the soft alluvial soils of North Bundaberg where erosion and settlement of soft and wet soils is a major concern

ICPS does it’s “ground work” before instigating rectifications by incorporating extensive and deep soil testing – well in excess of standard requirements – to identify strong founding soils for new footings.

I am Brad Nicholls and this blog is my story. I have qualifications in many areas and along with my team have a combined 100 years plus in all the areas we market our skills and abilities. Following several years of catastrophe investigations and disaster management such as Cyclone Yasi, Cyclone Ului, Cyclone Larry, the Queensland Floods and the recent Townsville Tornado event, ICPS has opened a further services centre in Townsville, North Queensland. This compliments the companies existing presence in Cairns and the east coast of Queensland and Australia.

ICPS Australia is able to provide Building consulting, engineering investigations, design and project management. www.icps.net.au. Managing Director, Mr Brad Nicholls said that due to the recent demand for ICPS Australia services, a decision was made to integrate the companies expertise into Townsville. The company recently completed assignments such as, Apartment damage on Magnetic island, The Port Hinchinbrook catastrophe, Tully Hotel reconstruction and the Kurrimine Beach resort reconstruction.
